Ryan Simon, Vice President of Appliance Builder Wholesaler (ABW) was confronted with the challenge of running a successful appliance distribution and service company and needs a reliable, secure, cost effective network and communication solution to provide company with uninterrupted voice and data communication with built in security that would enable company branch offices to connect to main office them to access business operation software and remain competitive in the market place.
So, Smarthost Design Technology – an IT consulting and managed services provider was contacted. Upon detail assessment our engineers realized that ABW needs to replace aging and antiquated hardware with reliable Cisco smart network devices that are more in tune to support advance but simple technology of the current times.

Smarthost Design Technologies (SHD Technologies) came to the rescue recommending the award winning Cisco SR 520 series of routers, ESW 500 series switches and configuration to utilize the advance capabilities of those routers and switches to support Voice Over Internet Protocol (VOIP) Quality of Services (QOS) and Virtual Local Area Network (Vlan)s to upgrade ABW’s Network to integrate in to existing cross site Multi-Protocol Label Switching (MPLS) network thus saving ABW significantly on the cost of implementing a separate and new phone in the second office location. With Smarthost Design solution and Cisco hardware ABW can now communicate relying on the robust connective of Cisco devices and switches networking two sites together using VOIP, secure wireless connectivity and inter LAN networking.
Not only did we get a professional installation of new cisco equipment and access points, we got personalized support which was tailored around our business hours of operation so that down time was kept to a minimal.
Results
ABW Warehouse now operates with a reliable, secure and greener network saving money on cost to electrical power spent on outdated equipment and even grater ABW is now able to communicate using their existing Avaya IP 500 office PBX system which saves over $5000 in cost of a new system. ABW Warehouse is now connected wirelessly using mobile scanning devices for effective inventory and tracking management. ABW showroom is now powered by ESW 520, with well design network closet removing previous bottle neck caused by old hardware. All 3 ABW offices, stores around the Washington DC area now connects back to the main network powered by Smarthost Design Technology and Cisco hardware devices to providing a reliable, secure, and greener technology.
